A little something I have noticed in my own brain and I bet you experience this too…

Avoiding working on your goals because of overwhelm.

Does this sound familiar:

You don’t take the time to plan out your goals.

You keep it all in your head.

You think you know what steps you need to take.

And then you don’t take any action.

Why?

Because your brain tells you that you are too overwhelmed and don’t know where to start so why start at all…

But the truth is:

You are not overwhelmed. Your brain is lying to you to keep you from taking action (to keep you safe).

It’s Not You, It’s Science

When you want to try something new, different, or unknown (like a goal), your brain will start freaking out and try to stop you at all costs because your brain perceives any potential for mental or physical harm as a threat.

This means that your brain will respond to any new, different, or uncomfortable situation as such. When your brain perceives a threat, it moves into fear…
